Early Prevention

It is crucial for public health as it reduces the transmission of infections within communities. Controlling the spread of STDs helps prevent outbreaks and reduces the burden on healthcare systems.

DoxyPEP Basics

Doxy PEP is effective in preventing bacterial sexually transmitted infections (STIs), but it does not prevent viral STIs.

  • DoxyPEP is a pill you can take after unprotected sex to lower the chance of getting some bacterial STIs like chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis.

  • It's most helpful if taken within 24 hours after sex, but it can still work if taken up to 72 hours later.

  • It's beneficial for men who have sex with men (MSM), trans women, and others who are at higher risk of STIs.

  • If you're eligible you can get DoxyPEP along with PREP (a pill that helps prevent HIV)

Prep or PEP ?

What is PREP?

PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis) is a medicine that reduces your chances of getting HIV from sex or injection drug use. When taken as prescribed, PrEP is highly effective for preventing HIV. Ask us for more information!

What is PEP?

Talk right away (within 72 hours) to your health care provider, an emergency room doctor, or an urgent care provider about PEP if you think you’ve recently been exposed to HIV during sex, through sharing needles or other equipment to inject drugs, or if you’ve been sexually assaulted. The sooner you start PEP, the better. Every hour counts. If you’re prescribed PEP, you must take it daily for 28 days.
